Nurture the Seed
How do we continue to nurture the seed? It must be carefully monitored. I don’t know about you, but when we go on vacation and come back to our garden, we find it’s a mess. How can weeds take over that aggressively and in just a few days?? It is absolutely crazy how fast we can lose control. The same is true with our spiritual condition. A little maintenance every day goes a long way to keeping ourselves and our family on the straight path.
Continuing with the garden analogy, plants get a lot of their nutrition from their leaves and the sun. I’m not sure if you’re aware that each section of a Torah scroll is called a leaf! I find these little connections fascinating. Scripture is also equated to the Tree of Life in Proverbs 3:18, “She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her, and happy are all who hold her fast.” In Revelation 22:1-2 states, “Then he showed me a river of the water of life, clear as crystal, coming from the throne of God and of the Lamb, in the middle of its street. On either side of the river was the tree of life, bearing twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit every month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.”
Did you catch that? The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. I believe the Word is so much more powerful and healing than we even know. Again, this is why I love to study it. As we learn The Seed, we produce seeds. As we walk, we plant. We disciple. We learn and grow. Ultimately, we mature and produce fruit.
