Water the Seed
Watering the Seed seems simple enough. In order for the seed to emerge from the shell, it needs moisture. But anyone who gardens will tell you, it is a fine line. Water is wonderful and necessary, but also needs to be monitored. Too much water and the seed molds, too little and it never sprouts. Seeds are delicate things.
Sort of like the water and the womb our friend, Red Door Doc, painted. His painting was another piece of the puzzle for me in starting this website. The LORD gave me the title “seeds within seeds” in October of 2021. I still don’t know what I am necessarily building, but when I saw the painting, I knew my focus was the next generation. In a way, that’s what I’ve been doing for over twenty years as I homeschooled my kids. When that ended in May with my youngest’s graduation, I wasn’t sure what I would do next. I sort of assumed it would be mentoring other young moms that are homeschooling. I enjoy sharing my “aha moments” as well as my epic failures so those that are searching for answers don’t have to repeat all the same mistakes.
If we ponder the painting a bit, we can see a womb within that drop of water. Inside the womb is the Hebrew letter mem. I have only recently started to learn Hebrew and it will be a long while before I have any confidence in what I’m learning. But Hebrew is fascinating on many levels. It is three languages in one. Each letter represents an image, a number, and a sound. The letter mem not only says “mmm,” it also represents water and is the number 40. It is also one of five letters that has a final form. When it is at the beginning or in the middle of the word, it is open and looks like this מ sort of like a wave. When it falls at the end of a word, it is closed and looks like this ם.
There is much that can be discussed just with those two facets of the letter. However, I’m trying to keep my introductory blog posts to a minimum. Afterall, we don’t know each other very well. You probably want to skim through a few posts to see if we have anything in common. I don’t blame you, I do that, too! I’ll save the deeper dive into the nerdery for later.
The big picture? Scripture is often equated with water. It’s refreshing and creates an environment conducive for life—much like the womb. As we spend time in the Word, we are being recreated in His image, after His image and likeness. That is why I love the Word and taking my time as I study. I hope you will journey with me, and we can learn and grow together. Like kind growing together actually produces a greater harvest!
