The Seed Lives On…What Are You Sowing?
You only live once, aka “YOLO,” is a lie!
As believers, if we can stop our scrolling long enough to look beyond the current quippy lingo and process what we are seeing, we might realize we have largely been deceived. I’m not judging! I’m as guilty as the next person when it comes to relying on my phone far more than I should. However, in the back of my mind, I cannot forget my role as a disciple of Messiah.
Matthew 28:19 tells us, "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
It’s a hard question. Am I making disciples?
How can I make disciples if I don’t even know what it means to be one?
I have been studying the parable of the sower for well over three years now. As it slowly unfolds, I see so many layers and depth—yet I know that I have barely scratched the surface.
What I do know for certain, our legacy lives on in the seed. As I slowly tend to my field, I am beginning to understand what it means to be a disciple. I am also carefully making disciples as I share what I learn.
One seed can bear so much fruit! In the same way, the ripple effect of our lives extends farther than we can imagine. So I have to ask, what are you sowing for the next generation?
See the patterns and principles in the Word.
Recognize them in your walk.
Examine your vision.
He will make your path straight.
